Procrastination can do away with the best laid plans, yet we are all
guilty of procrastinating from time to time. This is just the way the
human mind deals with some things, be it because they are overwhelming
or just require more focus or energy than we are willing to give at any
one time. If procrastination is something that you want to do away
with, you don’t have to only wish for it to be, you can make it a
reality through procrastination affirmations.

That’s right, affirmations can help you tackle your procrastination!

I was determined to take it easy and just relax. I had worked every day for 10 straight days and envisioned a day by the pool maybe even with a cold beer and a good book. I like relaxing, it’s enjoyable and good for you so why wouldn’t anybody do it as much as possible?

I’ll tell you why, because of stuff, that’s why.

It slowly slips inside you, takes you over and kills your creativity before you even realise it’s struck, disappearing again with as little commotion as when it arrived.

It’s because of this ability to do so much damage silently that procrastination is so dangerous.

Here are 7 of the favourite disguises of procrastination and how they manifest themselves inside you:

1. Housemaid: Suddenly you feel compelled to hoover, dust, polish and wipe down anything that needs it in your home. And a few things that don’t, just for good measure. Even though you did the same thing when you came to create yesterday.

Sometimes just one good idea can revolutionize your life. Other times it’s a combination of good ideas that propels you to new heights of happiness and achievement.

A year or two ago I discovered a powerful procrastination busting concept. My only problem was that I forgot to use it.

About a week ago, I remembered how great this idea was and started using it on the spot. Then as I worked with it, I added some new twists of my own so that I could use it for additional activities throughout my entire day.

Do you want to separate yourself from the everyone else around you? The easiest way to do this is by simply do those things that you say you are going to do. In watching other people, it is quickly realized how this is an uncommon practice. Most people tend to offer their services in some capacity only to not fulfill their commitment when the time comes. Even when an individual goes as far as to make a promise, the completion rate is still extremely low.

Procrastination has been a long- time problem that sometimes can be taken for granted. Studying for an exam the day before can result in low grades and nothing more – no egos have been hurt because of it. Starting on a project a week before the deadline promises to be a little challenging and exciting. Sounds a little bit easy right? Nothing deadly?

The truth is, there really is a huge problem with procrastination. Not only do we get low grades, but we lose time, effort and attention because of it. And these are factors that money can’t buy.

I can’t move. I can’t think. I can’t even manage to do the usual day-to-day routine. I’m frozen in a state of procrastination. We often find ourselves paralyzed because of a project that looms large in the near future. I know I’ve got to get started. Surely getting the project done can’t be worse than this state I’m in!

The controversy surrounding Barry Bonds’ pursuit of the all-time home run record is well documented. If you are not familiar with the affair, there are allegations that Bonds used performance enhancing drugs during his career. These drugs, according to many, gave him an unfair advantage that players in the past did not have. It is this belief that leads many to feel that Henry Aaron is still the home run champion.
