The Love chapter in the Bible, First Corinthians 13, says it so plainly. When I was a young disciple I was required to memorize and practice this chapter.

The essence of the chapter is that if you don’t have love in your heart it doesn’t really matter what else you can do. It won’t mean a thing! Paul goes on to say, inspired of the Holy Spirit, the very spirit of love, even if you can speak in many different languages, or even in the language of angels, but if you don’t have LOVE it is the same as the noisy, cold clanging of metal.

One of the best parts of being Wiccan is that we all follow our own path. However, there are a couple of common beliefs that, as Wiccans, we live by to make our lives happy and healthy.

“Bide within the Law you must, in perfect Love and perfect Trust.”

You see for me, Wicca is about Love. It is about using our love to produce magic. When you work your spells, if you do it with love only good can happen. Love is the strongest emotion we have and will produce your desires, if you use it with the intention as the Wiccan Rede was created.

“Like…what’s that on your face?” the young girl blurted out to another young girl in the mall. Being less than ten feet away, I couldn’t help but see the zit was bigger than the nose on a clown in the Fourth of July parade. Could she have been more rude? I don’t think so. How could she say that in front of the girls friends and several strangers?

We see poor manners everywhere…the mall, theatre, restaurants, airports…anywhere people gather. A very good friend, Sybil Atwood, recently shared her concern with what she phrased, “the end of civility” in our society. Once again, Sybil has inspired me to dig a little deeper.
